ABOUT US
In 1994, after having been a partner in a small law firm for seven years, Rob Gleaner decided it was time to go out on his own. He started his own firm with a vision. A peek into his legal background reveals how this philosophy was developed.

He was only in his first year at Delaware Law School in 1980. A call by his father, local South Jersey lawyer Harold P. Gleaner, to his friend Frank M. Lario, Jr., initiated what turned out to be a long and close relationship. As it turned out, Frank's office, the Haddonfield law firm of Lario and Nardi, was in need of a law clerk. Rob was in need of experience. It was a match from that first phone call. Rob met with Frank, and shortly thereafter, with his partner, Joseph M. Nardi, Jr. Rob began to clerk with Frank and Joe, doing research, working on litigation, meeting with clients and doing other important support tasks for the firm.

As time went on, Rob became an associate with Lario and Nardi, and eventually became a partner in the firm in 1987. Obviously, the legal experience was invaluable. However, the more important lesson was the way that Frank and Joe worked with their clients. No one was ever turned away. Fees were paid in accordance with the individual's ability to do so. Frank loved to tell stories about how his father, Frank M. Lario, Sr., also a prominent lawyer, was sometimes paid by way of vegetables or bartered services. The point of the story was that one should never let a fee come between the lawyer and his client. This was the Lario and Nardi creed and it was well learned.

By 1988, Joe's abilities were recognized by the Governor of New Jersey when he was named to the bench of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Frank quickly followed him to the Superior Court bench in 1991. The firm continued until July of 1994, when it was amicably dissolved by the remaining partners, who wanted to go in their own directions. Rob joined his father, Harold, who by that time was in semi-retirement, but still practicing law part time in an office that he had occupied in Audubon, New Jersey since the early 1960's.

Rob is a graduate of Rutgers (B.S., 1978) and Delaware Law School (J.D., 1981). He is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. As a former Municipal Court Judge, in Audubon where he practices law, he has seen legal issues from both sides of the bench, an advantage which extends to all of his clients. Rob's father, Harold, serves "of counsel" to the firm and has over 40 years of legal experience, including over 22 years as a Municipal Court Judge in several Camden County communities.

Thomas M. Herdelin is the newest addition to the firm of Robert A. Gleaner, P.C. Tom focuses his practice on the litigation of commercial matters, including a wide array of collection matters. In addition, he represents clients in landlord/tenant, consumer law and municipal court matters.

Tom is a graduate of East Carolina University and the Columbus School of Law of The Catholic University of America. Tom began his career as Law Clerk to the Honorable John B. Mariano, in the New Jersey Superior Court. Following his clerkship, Tom was associated with one of South Jersey's leading law firms for five years. Thereafter, Tom served as in-house counsel to a large real estate management and development company before opening his own practice in 2005. In September 2006, Tom joined Robert A. Gleaner, P.C.

Tom has appeared several times as a guest on Legal Lines, a television program sponsored by the Camden County Bar Association, and has also served for four years on the Borough of Audubon Planning Board.

The firm is blessed with a superior support staff. Joan Unangst, the secretary for the law firm, has over 35 years of legal secretarial experience. Her pleasant demeanor and speedy attention to the needs of clients assures satisfaction even when it is difficult for the attorneys to attend to an immediate problem. Emma Darpino is the firm's "Chief Financial Officer", having served as the firm's bookkeeper and billing clerk since its inception. With over 45 years of financial experience, she is available to answer any client questions concerning bills and related procedures.

The combined effort of these talented individuals ensures that the client will get the most accurate and proficient representation that is available. Robert A. Gleaner, P.C. continues to operate today with the same creed that was so successful for Lario and Nardi - Offer quality legal services at reasonable rates and always work with clients in accordance with their financial abilities. No situation is too large or too small.
